REFLECTION

Experience:
Throughout this 14 weeks, it felt like a very long winding journey. I started out with a heavy heart because I was in my cousin's house and stuck with only my laptop. I was struggling with the lack of resources and a sudden shift in working environment. It felt much more lonely without physical interactions with classmates and lecturers. I even sometimes doubt whether if there was a point for classes as I could not focus on classes and I was not taking in whatever that was taught in class. I constantly doubted in my work quality cause I felt that my friends were doing better and I did not have equipments like drawing tablet or a good quality laptop to support my work process. Most importantly I was disappointed that I could not hold my physical product in hand and flip through it. The worst experience was at one point where we did so badly that not only Mr Vinod was tired of explaining the same error again and again because of some of us which did not bother to attend and pay attention to his classes.

Observation:
I observed a few things that my classmates have in common throughout these 14 weeks. Most of us have problem in learning certain things in the module. For example form and movement exercise, many of us could not understand the purpose nor the concept of the whole design. The reason is fairly simple, most of us are still not clear about the basics of the specific design principle. Besides that, many of us are still lacking in the understanding of typesetting. Many of us forgot about what we have learnt in typography but I myself think although we learnt the basic theories, we actually still lack an eye to actually see whether if we are doing it correct or not. Of course this is based on experience and I do observe that my classmates indeed improved alot in this factor at the end of semester.

Findings:
I found out that human interaction was much more needed for me to do my work. I myself is an extrovert, I gain energy from interacting with others to work. This MCO definitely took a toll on me because most of the time I felt really energy deprived and I just could not focus on anything. I also find out that although the work quality did not reduce as this module is a individual based module, for other modules which require teamwork it definitely damaged the work quality.

All in all, we students are definitely still trying our best to work on our assignments but undoubtedly our work time went from classes to a full day work every week and it definitely took a toll on our physical and mental health more than we think. The most dangerous thing I find out is that this continuous stress affected many of us as in this semester, some of us have gotten sick, fainted, panic attacks and some of us went for an eye surgery.
