Lecture 3: Identifying A Viable Art Direction
8/5/2020 (Week 4)
For our last presentation, me and Xuan presented on identifying a viable art direction project. We presented the topic by using actual game samples to compare a good and bad art direction. We elaborate on what the game with good art direction did right to what went wrong in the game with bad art direction. We also further talked about the methods and techniques for presentation and formulating an art direction project.

INSTRUCTIONS
PROJECTS
For the module, we were split into groups and tasked to find 3 games that we want to work on and create an art direction bible for the game. The game can be any type of game and we were tasked to create a proposal for the game which we liked. I was grouped up with Xuan and we started discussing for the game which we liked. Below are the games we have chosen.
3 Chosen Games:
After then we had to choose one game to work on and create an art direction proposal for it. The game which we chose was Metal Slug 3. We chose that game because both of us have played with it before and we wish to fix some of the inconsistent details in the art of metal slug to further enhance the game. We started by analyzing the game before creating the proposal for it.

Project Management
After our proposal is approved, we started managing our workloads and set the priorities for each element and decide how the order will be in managing the tasks.
Trello Management
After that, we shifted our work to Trello and there we split our tasks accordingly and also arrange the priorities according to the document we created previously. Our work progress will be mainly updated in Trello and shown to Mr Kannan for feedbacks.

Design Progression:
As I was mainly in charge of creating the graphic design such as UI, logo, typography for the game, I designed the assets in Adobe Illustrator first then I put it together with the game screens in Adobe Photoshop. I also added textures and colouring in Photoshop to create a cohesive look with the game.
Receiving Feedbacks and Refining Work:
When the works are done, I will put the progress in Trello and receive feedbacks. Then I will further refine the work again in Trello until it is approved.
After everything is done, we compile everything that has been done into a final art bible for the game.
